Full Moon!

What a gorgeous view I've had for the last few mornings and evenings as the moon waxed to it's fullest tonight. Sure makes doing chores in the dark a lot easier. Tonight is apparently the closest the moon has been to the earth in 2008.

But add in a female English Shepherd in heat, and two intact males- and our house sounds like something out of a horror movie! Last night, Tucker our male lab, howled almost all night... Bubba, our male English Shepherd, was pacing and restless most of the night. And Honey, the little hussy, would prefer to stand next to the gate and drive the boys nuts!

At least this will pass soon enough. The "testosterone fog" around here means that the boys can't remember what they're supposed to do at all!

Is winter over yet???

Okay- Uncle! There- I said it- I've had enough winter already! We got another 12" of snow this week. The kids had their first snow day of the year on Tuesday- one of the few called in our school district. The snow drifts are up to 4' tall in some spots and getting over to the pasture is a challenge. We might have to set up some snow fencing next year to at least give us a walkway.

Temps are dropping tonight- expecting 0F with windchills of -10F...

When did I move to Canada??? Couldn't I at least have moved to Vancouver???

Winter arrives with a bang!

You know- you never get all your projects done in time- well- it seems that at least I never do... We had hoped to get our winter hay stored in earlier this year. But as luck would have it, we never did. So we're back to getting in loads as we can before the snow gets too deep. I'm still hoping we can get the big bales in before too long.

This weekend we stacked in 250 bales- I'm tired and sore- maybe I'm getting too old for this *&$#? Nah- this is what keeps me young.....!

The snow is falling - they're predicting anywhere from 4-8" by tomorrow. Glad we at least got in what we did today. Can't wait to see how beautiful everything will look in the morning. At least until I have to drive to work...
